ECV (Ecole de Communication Visuelle) is a private under-grad, and graduate design schools in France. ECV has 5 campuses across France (Paris, Bordeaux, Nantes, Lille, and Aix-en-Provence), and created new division ECV Digital in 2015 to accelerate digital design and development programs.

I am a proud alumni of ECV Paris Class of 1997. When the director of ECV Digital, Alexia Moity invite me to become a board member, I accepted in a heart beat. Since then, I travel to France from time to time, to present Disney's approach to digital design,

It is absolute pleasure to share 20+ years of digital design experience as digital-immigrant to digital-native students with full of hopes and dreams, I make effort to spend time off-campus to learn about their work experiences and future interests.

Help Designers to Thrive in Business

Following the completion of my global executive MBA program at INSEAD, I have come to appreciate the significant role that design and designers play in driving business and innovation for a positive global impact. In May 2021, I hosted my inaugural webinar titled "A Survival Guide for Designers in the Business World" for Master's students from Lille and Aix-en-Provence.

I discussed the functioning of power structures in business and how designers can harness this special ability to create a significant impact in the business world.

I concluded the workshop by assigning a task to the student teams. I asked them to imagine themselves 10 years in the future as design leaders and to consider how they would structure their teams and promote design within their organizations. With their graduation just a few months away, my goal was to encourage them to start envisioning the future of their careers and to foster growth mindsets. Best of luck to them all!

From 2015 onwards, I have been in charge of designing 4 retail e-commerce projects for Disney: the Shop Disney Parks app, Shop Disney US, Tokyo Disney Resort Shopping, and Shop Disney Japan. Every project presented distinct targets and challenges. Through testing various strategies, we gained valuable insights that have positioned Disney as a prominent e-commerce leader.

Following a few years of running the Shop Disney Parks app, it evolved into the unified merchandise e-commerce venture known as "Shop Disney" under the Consumer Products group. This worldwide e-commerce platform featured all the products available at Disney Store locations across the globe.

In 2020, Shop Disney launched its online store in Japan, successfully integrating global platform with local business and systems.

During the pandemic, the Tokyo Disney Resort's merchandise e-commerce, including the ShopDisney.jp project, became a major source of revenue. Initially restricted to park Guests, sales were expanded to customers across the country. This move proved beneficial in generating consistent income while the resort was closed due to the pandemic.

Back in 2017, in partnership with Disney Imagineering, we introduced the Play Disney Parks App, a fresh mobile gaming experience that revolutionizes the theme parks through interactive adventures.

The app features a variety of games inspired by attractions, Disney trivia, special achievements, and enjoyable experiences that enhance your surroundings. Several activities are designed to connect with the physical park itself.

Numerous games involve physical items positioned at each attraction. While some offer advice to address challenges, others react physically to the digital actions performed by Guests.

Digital achievements can be exchanged for physical pins in the parks.

The Play Disney Parks App has now evolved into a more extensive digital entertainment center located at the recently opened Star Wars Galaxy's Edge in Walt Disney World, Orlando, and Disneyland Resort, California.
